EVENT: 22 April 2017 – Brislington Brook Walk to the Source.

<<< NEW ROUTE !! … via Maes Knoll Tump >>>
The annual 8 mile circular walk following both tributaries of the Brislington Brook through the urban jungle, to the Dundry slopes and back … expect some beautiful and not so beautiful surprises! … Meet at Tesco car park on Callington Rd Brislington. … There should be plenty of parking on nearby Water Lane. … Bring sandwiches and water, and wear good walking boots…  This is a challenging, but very rewarding, walk – are you up for the challenge? … Please let us know if you would like to join us.

PLEASE NOTE: Most of this walk is on public pavements and footpaths. Near the source the walk is off of public footpaths with muddy gateways and fencing to negotiate. Last year our route was made harder by new fencing, so this year we have created a new route with fewer obstacles. We have had to seek special permission to walk parts of this route from the landowners. We will explain where these sections are when we arrive at them. We will still find the first source of Brislington Brook, but then head south and further up Dundry Hill. This means we have the added bonus of visiting the Iron Age hill fort of Maes Knoll on our journey! It also means we will get to see both sides of Dundry, with stunning views south to the Mendips, on top of the views north to Bristol and beyond! ** People undertake the walk at their own risk, and are advised to wear appropriate footwear and clothing to suit the weather and ground conditions **
