23 July 2016 – St Anne’s Day Pageant details

On Saturday 23 July 2016 the Friends of Brislington Brook are celebrating St Anne’s Day by hosting a medieval pageant through Nightingale Valley and St Anne’s Woods. This year we are very excited to announce we have the fantastic storyteller, Deb Cordon, and medieval musicians, Bygonz, to lead the pageant from Brislington Village, alongside the Brislington Brook, through Nightingale Valley and St Anne’s Wood to the Holy Well of St Anne’s.

Medieval banquet at The Kings Arms, Brislington Village.

logo-2This year we are very excited to announced that The Kings Arms, Brislington, have come on board with our St Anne’s Day celebrations and are hosting a pre-pageant medieval banquet of bacon sandwiches. Wozz and Tina are opening their doors early, at 11am, to ensure our St Anne’s Day celebrations get off to a great start. 

Storyteller – Deb Cordon.

Deb Cordon is a seasoned storyteller who specialises in bringing outdoor environments to life. She uses a unique blend of story-walks and environmental arts to move her stories through woodlands, forests and parks, taking her story-walkers along with her on a meandering journey of surprise and discovery. Music – Bygonz.

Bygonz ( Gillian and Rob Guest) entertain with music from bygone ages. They perform on period instruments, including  pipe and tabor, English bagpipes, symphonie/hurdy gurdy,  and medieval percussion playing authentic music dressed in appropriate costume.  Their repertoire ranges from medieval and tudor through to the Victorian era and they have performed at a range of events/venues including the York Mystery Plays,  St Richard’s festival in Droitwich, Dover’s Cotswold Olimpicks,  Ely eel day, Heritage Open Days and at various National Trust properties.
